Guiding Families Toward Stronger, Healthier Connections

Introducing The Connected Family Method™

At Flora & Associates, we believe meaningful behavioral change does not come from quick fixes. It comes from connection, consistency, and clarity.

That is why we developed The Connected Family Method™ — a 15-week, structured, relationship-centered model designed to create lasting behavioral change and meaningful shifts in family dynamics.

This is not traditional Parent Management Training.

While our approach is grounded in evidence-based behavioral science, we found that many traditional parenting models focused heavily on behavior modification — but often missed the critical components of rebuilding trust, strengthening attachment, and restoring connection inside the home.

So we built something different.

Our goal is not short-term obedience.

Our goal is long-term transformation.

A Relationship-First Approach To Lasting Family Change

What Makes The Connected Family Method™ Different?

1. Dual Focus: Parent & Family Sessions

This is not a drop-off program.
Our model intentionally combines:

  • Dedicated parent sessions to build skill, leadership, and consistency

  • Structured family sessions to practice skills live and shift relational patterns in real time

Parents gain tools.

Families gain new experiences of interacting differently together.

We believe families do not heal in isolation. They heal in relationship.

Building Positive Behaviors Through Trust And Connection

2. Behavior Replacement Through Relationship

We do not simply aim to reduce unwanted behaviors.
We help families:

  • Replace power struggles with predictability

  • Replace yelling with calm, confident structure

  • Replace shutdown with safe emotional expression

  • Replace chaos with connection

  • Replace reactivity with regulation

The goal is not just “better behavior.”

The goal is increased bonding, real joy, and authentic connection inside the home.

When connection improves, behavior follows.

Creating Long-Term Growth With Consistent Support

3. Sustainable Change Over 15 Weeks

True transformation takes time.
Over the course of 15 weeks, families move through a structured progression:

  • Understanding behavior, triggers, and nervous system responses

  • Building regulation and co-regulation skills

  • Implementing clear, consistent behavioral systems

  • Strengthening attachment and communication

  • Practicing new relational patterns in session

  • Solidifying routines that support long-term stability

This intentional timeline allows families to practice new skills repeatedly, build sustainable habits, and create lasting change — rather than relying on short-term compliance strategies that fade.

We are not interested in quick fixes.

We are invested in permanent shifts.

Setting Clear Expectations For Successful Outcomes

Important Program Requirements

Because PMT is a clinical treatment program, participation requires commitment and readiness for change.

1. No Medication During PMT

To accurately assess behavioral progress and ensure treatment integrity, no behavior-modifying medication is permitted during the PMT program. This allows us to clearly measure the impact of behavioral interventions alone.

2. Parent Participation is Required

PMT is a parent-focused treatment. Parents are the agents of change. Parent Sessions are essential to your child’s success.

Flora & Associates_Icons parent anxiety

3. Parent Anxiety Must Be Treated Concurrently

Research shows that parent anxiety is the number one reason PMT does not work. When parents are overwhelmed, dysregulated, or unsure of themselves, it becomes very difficult to follow through with the program consistently.

Strengthening The Family System From The Inside Out

4. Empowered Parents. Regulated Children. Connected Families

When parents feel confident and supported, children respond differently.

When structure is clear and predictable, anxiety decreases.

When connection is prioritized, behavior improves naturally.

The Connected Family Method™ is designed to create that shift.

Because at the end of the day, we are not just changing behavior.

We are helping families build homes filled with structure, safety, laughter, and genuine connection – homes where both parents and children can thrive.
