Self-Care isn’t just the new Buzz Word
Self-Care isn’t just the new Buzz Word
Self-care is one of the most important things we can do for our mental and emotional health. With the hustle and bustle of daily life, managing kids schedules , sickness, school trips, driving to this practice and that birthday party, laundry, cooking and oh yeah working—fitting in time for ourselves often seems impossible and sometimes even selfish. But, the reality is, you are a much better, kinder, grounded and centered person when you take that time for yourself.
But what is selfcare really? For some of us, a relaxing day at the spa or a long walk. Others define therapy as selfcare, and for some it could be a hard work out moving their body or going out to dinner or even meal prepping for the week. Selfcare is individualized just like a therapeutic treatment plan. We all need different thing to refuel and revitalize our bodies. So, in reality, Selfcare is all the things that help you and your body perform its absolute best.
I encourage you, find that extra 20 minutes a day to go for a walk, our leave the house a mess and go get that pedicure you have been thinking about for 2 weeks, get up a half hour before the kids to drink a cup of coffee in silence. Be the best version of yourself because you only get one shot at life, let’s make it meaningful.
